Arsenal have agreed a fee with Real Madrid for midfielder
Sami Khedira, according to reports in Spain.
Khedira, who has been celebrating Germany's World Cup win at
the weekend, could soon be heading to the Emirates as Real are
thought to have reached an agreement over the asking price of
£20million.
The 27-year-old has one year left on his contract at the
Bernabeu, but faces competition for a midfield berth following
the anticipated arrival of international team-mate Toni Kroos.
He is yet to agree personal terms with the Gunners, who have
already raided Spanish giants Barcelona for the signing of
exciting forward Alexis Sanchez.
Lukas Podolski voiced his desire for Khedira to join him at
Arsenal during Germany's World Cup homecoming and he
would also link up with compatriots Per Mertesacker and Mesut
Ozil in north London.
Khedira played a prominent role en-route to the final, but an
injury in the warm-up prevented him from facing Argentina in
Sunday's 1-0 extra-time triumph.
