Rory celebrates win with New Girl

Rory McIlroy took to the streets of Liverpool on Sunday night to celebrate his Open victory.

The 25-year-old won the Claret Jug at Hoylake in the afternoon, before being seen out a few hours later with his mother and fellow professional Justin Rose as they headed to The Empire Club in Liverpool.

And it also appeared as though he was with Irish model Nadia Forde, who he is rumoured to be dating just eight weeks after breaking off his engagement with tennis star Caroline Wozniacki.

McIlroy secured his first ever Open win after leading from the first round on Thursday to win by two shots.

He adds the success to his 2011 US Open victory, and 2012 USPGA triumph, to become only the third man after Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods in history to win three of the four majors by the age of 25.

He is also the first European golfer to to win three different majors and now needs to secure a Masters title for a Career Grand Slam.

Meanwhile, pals of the superstar golfer insist model Forde is “just not his type”, Irish Independent reports.

Rory and Nadia, both 25, have set tongues wagging about their relationship since they were spotted leaving a Dublin nightclub together at 3am last month.

But friends close to the pair have told Sunday Life they are not dating, and have only been in each other’s company because of mutual friends.

The sports star and the model turned popstar first met last year thanks to mutual pal Katie Lamour who is engaged to Rory’s best friend, fellow golfer and publican Harry Diamond.

Belfast model Katie is thought to have tried to set Rory and Nadia up earlier this year, but romantic sparks between the two failed to fly.

A pal told Sunday Life, “Rory and Nadia have been in the same group on nights out a couple of times but they are not dating and they won’t be.

“He thinks she is lovely but she’s just not his type, he loves sporty girls. He’s not looking for a girlfriend anyway.”
