Sampdoria striker Stefano Okaka has been speaking about his
expectations for the upcoming season, and reckons that he will
replicate his performance of last term or even surpass it.
Despite having to take a pay cut to formalize his switch to
Sampdoria, he gave a good account of himself last season,
netting 5 goals in 13 appearances.
“I always work to the fullest and believe in myself. If I do my
best, I will have a good season in return,” the Italian - Nigerian
said in an interview with Il Secolo XIX.
“For me it was not so difficult, especially because it was the
difficult situation in which I found myself. They (Parma) treated
me very badly . Had the opportunity to play for a club even
more prestigious and I grabbed it.
“Money certainly has value. But the paths of life led me to also
do other types of reasoning.”
Speaking on his relationship with manager Sinisa Mihajlovic,
Okaka said : “With the coach I was immediately okay . Now I‘m
here, he makes me feel good and I try to reciprocate.”
Sampdoria will face Eintracht Frankfurt and West Ham in
exhibition matches before the start of the Serie A.
